Who are we?
Familia Zorg started in 2024. A registered home care nurse (wijkverpleegkundige, BIG register) leads our organisation. We give care to everyone who needs it. We pay special attention to older people who speak Arabic or Berber. Our team speaks Dutch, Arabic and Berber (Tarifit).
We help older people live safely in their own home for as long as possible. In their own language, with respect for their faith and way of life.
Our services
- Nursing and personal care at home (wijkverpleging): for example wound care, giving medicines and help with washing and dressing. Your basic health insurance (Zvw) pays for this.
- Daily support (begeleiding): help to structure your day and stay independent. For people with a personal budget (pgb) through the Wlz or the municipality (Wmo).
- Help in the home: for people with a care decision (indicatie) and a personal budget (pgb) under the Long-term Care Act (Wlz).
- Live-in care: see below.
- Palliative care (palliatieve zorg): care at home in the last phase of life. With attention to faith, customs and the role of the family.
- Dementia care: together with the GP (huisarts) and the dementia case manager (casemanager dementie).
Where do we give care? We give nursing at home (wijkverpleging) in three areas of Amsterdam: Zuid (South), Oost (East) and Zuidoost (Southeast), and in Diemen. Postcodes: 1019, 1071 to 1079, 1081 to 1083, 1086 to 1088, 1091 to 1098, 1101 to 1109 and 1111 to 1113. Not sure? Call us.
Live-in care
Does your mother, father or loved one need a lot of care and supervision? And do you want them to keep living at home? Then live-in care can be a solution. With live-in care, a regular carer lives in the home of the person who needs care. The carer helps with personal care, housework and the daily routine. The carer also offers company and peace of mind.
Our live-in carers speak Arabic or Berber. They respect the culture and faith of the person they care for. A registered home care nurse (BIG) supervises the care. This nurse is also your contact person as a family.
From 2027 we provide live-in care everywhere in the Netherlands. It is possible for people with a care decision (indicatie) and a personal budget (pgb) under the Long-term Care Act (Wlz). How does care start?
- Call us, send a WhatsApp message or email us. Your GP (huisarts) or the hospital can also refer you to us.
- On working days from 8:00 to 17:00 we contact you the same day. A home care nurse visits you at home. You get to know each other and talk about the care you need.
- Together with you, we make a care plan (zorgplan) and a care agreement (zorgovereenkomst).
- Together we decide when the care starts. After that, we regularly check with you how it is going.
Costs
Familia Zorg has no contract with health insurers. For nursing at home (wijkverpleging), we do not charge you the part that your insurer does not pay. So you pay nothing extra. For details and rates, see the Vergoeding page (in Dutch).

What is live-in care?
With live-in care, the carer stays in the client’s home during the work period. This way, an older person who needs a lot of care can keep living in a familiar place. The carer helps with daily care, such as washing, dressing and meals, and with housework. The carer also offers company and peace of mind.
Familia Zorg will offer this care to older people who speak Arabic or Berber. In their own language, with respect for their culture and faith. This makes the care familiar and reassuring for the client and the family.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for carers who want to care for these older people with all their heart.
- A Helpende Plus or Verzorgende IG diploma, or a similar care diploma
- You speak Arabic or Berber
- You are allowed to work in the Netherlands, for example with a passport from an EU country. Candidates from anywhere in the European Union can apply
- You are willing to stay in the client’s home during the work period
- You can get a Dutch certificate of good conduct (VOG)
